Deployment

The production site is the root user site at devalltect00.github.io. astro.config.ts therefore uses the root site URL without a repository base path.

GitHub Pages

Repository Settings → Pages → Build and deployment → Source must be set to GitHub Actions. Do not select Deploy from a branch, because GitHub's automatic Jekyll builder cannot process Astro source files.

The Pages workflow:

  1. Installs Node.js 24 and the locked pnpm dependencies.
  2. Runs the Astro production build.
  3. Uploads dist/ as the Pages artifact.
  4. Deploys that artifact to the github-pages environment.

Optional repository variables named PUBLIC_PORTFOLIO_URL and PUBLIC_DOCUMENTATION_URL override navigation targets during CI builds.

Local production check

pnpm build
pnpm preview

Never commit generated dist/ or .astro/ output.
